Several Effective Methods to Activate Windows 2008 R2#

After installing Windows Server 2008, I found that there are significant differences compared to Windows Server 2008 R2. In short, R2 is the updated version, and I still recommend installing R2 directly (note that R2 and SP2 are completely different).

I originally wanted to buy a genuine Microsoft serial number, but when I checked the price, I thought, forget it, I can't afford it. A price under a thousand is manageable, but tens of thousands is too high, several times more than my hardware cost. Gates' pricing is too steep. If that's the case, I might as well use Linux. So, I looked for ways to crack it. There are various serial numbers on Taobao ranging from a few dollars to dozens of dollars, many of which are available for those who are interested but too lazy to deal with it. There are also cracking software available for activation; if you have a good method, you don't need to read further. Searching aimlessly online for serial numbers and cracking software is a waste of time.

Many of the activation codes for Windows Server 2008 R2 circulating online are invalid. I searched for some and found them useless, and several activation software were also ineffective. Software like Windows.Server.2008.READNFO.Activation.Crack-iND is ineffective for activating the Windows Server 2008 series.

I found an effective method online, which has a validity period of 180 days after activation. The specific method is as follows:

This server is set up based on the Russian KMS server VMWARE and is not time-restricted.

Supported Windows versions for KMS activation:
Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2 full series
Vista, Windows 7 Enterprise and Professional editions, the Ultimate edition cannot be KMS activated.
All language versions, x86, x64, IA64 versions are supported; please refer to the KEY and version at the bottom of this page for details.

KMS activation notes:
If you encounter the error message: 0xC004F06C, it means the system time is incorrect or the deviation is too large. Please check and try again; the system date and time must be correct!
0xC004F074 means unable to connect to the KMS server; please bookmark this post to check for updated IPs!
If you receive a message about insufficient counters, please try again after some time. When the server connection count exceeds 5, the client connection count exceeding 25 can activate.

Method 1:
Run CMD as an administrator
slmgr.vbs -skms 58.39.195.37 (set activation server) The server addresses are as follows (try them yourself):

Method 2:
Run CMD as an administrator and execute the following commands:
slmgr.vbs -ipk <valid customer key> (please check below for the KEY; versions not on the list are not supported, e.g., the Enterprise version key: slmgr.vbs -ipk 33PXH-7Y6KF-2VJC9-XBBR8-HVTHH)
slmgr.vbs -skms 58.39.195.37 (set activation server)
slmgr.vbs -ato (activate Windows)
Check activation:

slmgr.vbs -dlv (query license information; after successful activation, it will show volume activation expiration: 180 days. Before expiration, please choose online activation, or revisit this page to check activation information.)
If activation fails, please check if the system date and time are correct and confirm whether the Windows version and the above operations are correct.

Another activation method is to obtain a serial number for Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition directly from Microsoft using a student identity; other versions are not available. The specific method is as follows:

1. First, go to https://domains.live.com/members/signup.aspx?domain=stu.xawl.edu.cn to apply for an email. After applying, log in!

2. Open this URL: https://www.dreamspark.com/Products/Product.aspx?ProductId=17&amp;wa=wsignin1.0&amp;ppud=4&amp;lc=1033

3. First select student identity, in the second step select China, and in the third step select Xi’an University of Arts and Science.

4. Click the VIEW ALL P... button.

5. Select Simplified Chinese. Click the GET KEY button. Copy the KEY.

This is sent by Microsoft Student Center. Students can get the serial number for Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition for free. It has been confirmed that this serial number can activate both the Standard and Enterprise editions, though activating the Enterprise edition is a violation of copyright.

It can also activate: (only one software can be activated; activating WIN 2008 does not allow activation of others! Once any one is activated, the KEY becomes invalid!)

By the way, my machine has 8GB of memory installed, and 32-bit Windows 7 supports a maximum of 3.5GB of memory. Although the system properties show 8GB, the actual usable memory is only 3.5GB. This is because the maximum physical memory supported by a 32-bit operating system is 4GB, and the actual system can generally recognize 3.5GB. During operation, the actual memory addressing space is only 3.25GB. If you need to support a larger memory space, please install the X64 system. In fact, I have permanently activated the system very simply using cracking software. Currently, the most effective and simplest cracking method is to use a crack patch. After installing the system, just execute this patch and restart, and it will be activated without further hassle. If you don't trust it, you can first try it on a virtual machine, haha. Additionally, to check whether the downloaded file has been tampered with or whether it is the official release checksum, you generally calculate the SHA-1 value of the downloaded software using a tool to see if it matches the value provided by the original publisher. If it matches, it indicates that the software has not been tampered with; any changes to the files will alter the SHA-1 value. The principle of this verification is to treat the original file as a whole and calculate a unique value using a specific algorithm, which is similar to the MD5 principle.
